Application of the BAUDOCTOR AEROLIGHT Thermal & Mold Protection System
The effectiveness of the BAUDOCTOR AEROLIGHT system requires consistent and professional application.
The products are applied step by step to ensure maximum effectiveness.
1.
Identification and removal of mold


Existing mold must be professionally treated before starting the renovation.

Apply BAUDOCTOR Mold Clean (Schimmel Stop) to the affected surfaces to bind mold spores on the surface
• Completely remove any existing wallpaper
• Completely remove heavily mold-infested, loose, or crumbly wall plaster
• Then thoroughly clean the exposed masonry surfaces so that no organic residues, dust, or loose materials remain

BAUDOCTOR Primer Plus – Apply Special Primer


• After preparing the substrate, apply BAUDOCTOR Primer Plus
• Regulation and equalization of absorbency
• Improve adhesion for the subsequent system layers
• Create a homogeneous, mineral substrate
• Drying time:
• approx. 3–4 hours, depending on the substrate, temperature, and humidity

• Apply BAUDOCTOR AEROLIGHT high-tech thermal protection fine filler


• The high-tech thermal protection fine filler forms the building-physically effective functional layer.
• Substrate requirements
• Surface flat, even, and smooth
• No irregularities, cracks, or depressions
• The high-tech filler is not a crack filler and not a leveling compound
• Irregularities must be leveled beforehand.
Application:
• Option A – Filler Application
• Mix 10 liters of high-tech filler homogeneously with approx. 200 ml of water
• Apply evenly with a 4 mm notched trowel
Option B – Roller Application
• Mix 10 liters of high-tech filler homogeneously with approx. 300–350 ml of water
• Apply with a foam roller and then level with a smoothing trowel

Layer thickness
• If the required layer thickness is not achieved, apply a second layer after the first layer has fully dried.
• Multiple layers are used solely to achieve the required layer thickness.
Drying time
• approx. 24 hours, depending on environmental conditions
• After drying, minor irregularities can be lightly sanded with 200–240 grit

Apply BAUDOCTOR AEROLIGHT high-tech thermal protection fine filler


• The BAUDOCTOR AEROLIGHT Ecotherm Coating forms the final system layer.
Application:
• The coating can be applied with a standard paint roller or a suitable spray device
• Apply evenly and without interruptions
• Usually, one coat is sufficient to create the building-physically effective surface.
Function
• Formation of a heat-reflective, building-physically active surface
• Supports more stable wall surface temperatures
• Reduces nighttime cooling of the wall
• Reduces moisture conditions that promote mold growth
• The coating complements the functional layer of the high-tech filler and contributes to a balanced indoor climate as well as increased thermal comfort.

The full effectiveness of the system is only achieved with even application and processing according to the system instructions.
